Diao Chan

Diao Chan is an intelligent and kind young beauty, and the lover of Lu Bu. She fights on Dong Zhuo's side in the Battle of Si Shui Gate and Battle of Hu Lao Gate. Her real intention, however, is to sow discord and turn Lu Bu and Dong Zhuo against each other as mentioned in the novel. In her Musou story mode in the mainstream games, she follows Lu Bu on his conquests after Dong Zhuo's defeat until they both meet their ends after the Battle of Xia Pi. In the Xtreme Legends versions of the game, she follows Lu Bu as he sets off to eliminate all the rival warlords for Dong Zhuo, before eventually turning against Dong at the Battle of Chi Bi after Diao Chan successfully persuades him to do so. She convinces the "politically inept" Lu Bu to support the Han Dynasty after Dong Zhuo's downfall and attempts to leave after that. Lu Bu refuses to let her leave but obliges after he is defeated by her.

Diao Chan uses a pair of maces in the earlier installments, which are actually decorative globes attached to the ends of sticks (see Chúi for the weapon), and adds a few dainty kicks in her fighting style. She is a fast runner and quick attacker but she deals relatively low damage to enemies as compared to other characters. Her Musou attack involves her performing a spinning kick followed by a great swing of her maces. In and after Dynasty Warriors 6 she uses a chain whip. Her musou mode is available in Dynasty Warriors 6 after completing a character musou from each of the three kingdoms.
